My Diary

Hello and welcome to my website. My name is Stephanie and my goal is to compete in the Paralympics. I was born with a very rare physical disability known as CHILD syndrome. However it does not limit me in what I can do.

Like most people, I have a dream. Without your support, I can only make it so far. The journey to the Paralympics is one that is going to take a lot of hard work and dedication. Special training is required, along with special equipment. Also, the constant traveling is not an easy task. I need all the help I can get and I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for visiting my site and I hope you will understand how much I need your help to succeed in reaching my dream.

Remember, always "Believe In Yourself"

Special Thanks to all of Stephanie's supporters and volunteers!! Your precious time & efforts helped turn this day into a huge success. It's all of you who drive Stephanie to be the best that she can be. Her performance has indicated that she is a true athlete in down hill ski racing. She was recognized this year by the U.S. Paralympics, a division of the U.S. Olympic Committee. They invited her to two Dryland Camps this summer. She is currently in Lake Placid NY training at the U.S. Olympic Training Center and in September, she will go to the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Purpose is to provide emerging athletes the opportunity to work with the U.S. Adaptive Ski Team coaches, strength and conditioning and begin looking toward the 2014 Winter Paralympics Games in Russia. Way to go Steph!

Feburuary 10-13, 2009 - The Huntsman Cup in Park City, UT
After the training camp with PA Center for Adapted Sports in Camelback, PA I was off to Salt Lake City Utah on February 8th. I stayed at my favorite friendfs house, John ("One-Legged-John" ). He lives near Salt Lake City. The next day Mau drove me up with Tyler & Bob to Park City Mountain. Team Mau is on the road again! The Huntsman Cup is my second NorAm Level 2 race. All the races were held on steep Black Diamond hills and they were very difficult. But, I managed to win three Gold medals in the Jr. Class!

Stephanie and her family would like to thank all who turned out to support her in this yearfs event. Because of all of you, her event was a huge success! The run consisted of 326 motorcycles. It was a beautiful day and the run was flawless thanks to our Road Masters Dave Corby and Kurt Heitmeyer. A HUGE Thank You to all of our volunteers. Without their hard work, none of this would have been possible. Thank you Bob Wineman for working hard to help coordinate the entire event! We hope to see you again next year. Date set for July 12, 2009. So please mark your calendars. Our family is very grateful for those who have contributed to the success of this event.
